Maintenance

Landlords are required to maintain rental property in safe and habitable condition. Pennsylvania law does not require your landlord to provide maintenance for issues that do not affect the habitability of your apartment, but most landlords provide maintenance to keep the property, fixtures, and appliances in good repair. Before signing, review the lease to ensure your landlord will provide maintenance sufficient for your needs.

Keep in mind that the maintenance service is not always free. Your landlord can charge you to repair damages beyond normal wear and tear.
